How to Apply Mascara

Proper technique is the key to making the most of your mascara.  Follow these steps for flawless eyelashes.

Step 1
Apply all other make up before applying your mascara.

Step 2
Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler.

Step 3
Remove the mascara wand from the tube and begin applying on the underside (the side nearest to your eye) of your upper lashes.

Step 4
Hold the wand parallel to your eyelid and move the wand from the base of your lashes upward to the tip of the lashes.  Move slowly to help separate the lashes.

Step 5
Use an eyelash comb to remove any blobs of mascara that got on the lashes.

Step 6
Go to the other eye and repeat the process while the first lash is drying.

Step 7
Apply to the bottom lashes starting at the roots and working down.

Step 8
For extra volume on the bottom lashes, hold the wand vertically and run the wand from side to side.

Step 9
Apply a second layer for extra fullness to tip and bottom.

Step 10
Dip a cotton swab into a little eye makeup remover to take off any mascara that got on your face or eyelid.
 

Want a flirty look?  Apply one or two more coats of mascara on the lashes on the outside corners of your eyes for a flirty look.

Want a fresh look?  Apply mascara on your upper lashes only.  Apply it to both sides of the lashes.

Want a sexy look?  You can get a defined look by blinking into the brush. It gives you a sexy look.

Want another flirty look? Apply mascara to only the tips of your upper lashes and on your bottom lashes.
