Teen Tips: Bad
Habits that Affect Your Beauty
Just as good habits enhance your beauty, bad habits take away from your natural beauty. As you grow
and develop good habits, your natural beauty will be greatly enhanced now and you'll look much better, for much
longer, in the years to come. Here are a few suggestions of habits to avoid. They may not seem like much now, but
over time they will make a significant impact on your natural beauty.
- Staying up
late – Teenagers love to see how long they
can stay up at night. But, the body doesn’t respond well to that. Lack of sleep can cause dark
circles under your eyes. Also, you will be grouchier when you are sleep-deprived. This doesn’t
enhance your appearance. The average person need eight hours of sleep a night. Teens sometimes need
more.
- Not drinking
enough water - Every cell in your body
needs water. Water helps keep your skin and hair looking their best. You should drink at least eight
glasses of water a day. You can get some of this water through juice, milk, or non-caffeinated drinks.
Caffeine actually pulls water from your body. So, you should avoid caffeinated drinks such as colas,
teas, and coffee.
- Smoking
– Smoking is not cool. It slowly
grills your lungs from the inside out. It causes mouth, throat, and lung cancer. It causes
premature death. Although these problems may take some time to develop, smoking will affect your beauty
now. Research shows that smoking:
- Causes hair
loss
- Causes
wrinkles
- Turns your
teeth, finger and fingernails yellow
- Makes your
skin look twenty years older than it is.
