Summer is the time to relax and enjoy yourself.  This is the time of year when you spend more time outdoors swimming, playing sports, hiking, etc.  It isn’t the time to fuss over make up.  Here are some summer make up tips to achieve a healthy glow for the summer: 

For a bronze look:

• Apply a lotion bronzer all over face to give skin a healthy base color.

• Or, use a powder bronzer and dust it on your cheeks, the bridge of the nose, and across temples for a sun kissed look. 

For summer eyes:

• Apply neutral eye shadow on your eyelids.

• Curl your eyelashes and apply glossy black mascara.

• Use little or no eyeliner.

For summer lips:

• Use tinted balms or sheer lipsticks that have a glossy texture.

• Using a shade in muted pink or coral will enhance your bronze skin.

What color make up is best for suntanned skin?

Once again, pull out the bronzing powder or gel to give your skin a glow. Apply a frosted lipstick. Then, layer lip-gloss over it. Apply khaki or brown eye shadow.  Use a little eyeliner and mascara and you’re all set.
 

Want a year-round tan?

Forget spending hours in the sun trying to get a great tan.  What you’re getting are harmful UV rays that will cause premature aging, as you get older.  The new tanning gels, sprays and lotions will give you a tan without the damage.  For best results follow these steps:

1.      Take a bath or shower first and use an exfoliating type product to remove loose skin cells.

2.      After drying off, apply a moisturizer to your skin.

3.      Now apply your self-tanning product following the directions on the bottle.

4.      Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the self-tanning product.

5.      Re-apply as often as directed for a terrific glow year-round.
