Make Up for Preteens and
Early Teens
If you’re a girl between the ages of
twelve to fourteen, you may be ready to start experimenting with make up. There are quite a few products on the market that are
perfect for you. They allow you to look feminine in a natural way. Because they aren’t heavy on color
or coverage, a smear can be easily wiped off. So, it’s perfect for learning how to apply make up. Try some of these:
- Lip-gloss gives a shine to the lips and a touch of
color. It’s also great for nourishing, protecting and moisturizing your lips. Look for lip-gloss
containing Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter
and with SPF protection.
- Brow and lash
gel is the perfect product to tame your brows without using color. Just brush it on in the direction your
brows grow and you’ll have perfectly groomed brows. You can use this same gel to give your lashes some
shine and a great finish.
- Your skin
probably needs no coverage at your age. But if you want to give your face a fresh, dewy look, try using tinted
moisturizer. It adds a hint of color but allows your
natural youthfulness to come through.
You should start a
skin care regimen as early as age 10 or 11. When hormones kick in, blemishes may begin
also. Begin now by using a gentle cleanser
every night before bed (try Dove, Neutrogena or Basis). Follow cleansing with a light
moisturizer.
