Tips to Help You Make the Most of Your Lips

Here are tips to help you make the most of your lips:

  • Use a lip brush to apply your lipstick. It helps to control the amount of color you use and helps define the shape of your lips.

  • For easy lipstick stain removal, apply glycerin to affected area and wash as usual.

  • Want shine? Add gloss over your lipstick.

  • Want lots of shine and color, try a lip lacquer over your lipstick.

  • Too much shine? Hold a single-ply tissue against your lips and dab a little loose powder on the tissue. Some of the powder will sift through and stick to your lipstick thus reducing the shine.

  • Do you need to wear matte lipstick, but find it’s drying your lips? Use a lip primer or lip color fixative before applying your lipstick.

  • Want that special look for the evening? Put on your favorite color of lipstick. Then, apply a gloss in silver, gold or an iridescent shade over it.

  • Want a pouty, sexy mouth? Dab a touch of gloss in the center of your top lip.

  • Wearing a red lipstick? Line your entire lip with a brown lip liner before applying your lipstick. This will help the red pigment last longer.

  • Update your old shade of lipstick by covering it with a Lip Gloss in the same color. Or, apply a frosted gloss over your old color. It’ll look like you have a new lipstick.

  • Use an eyeliner pencil to line your lips and your eyes. Choose a shade that is red-brown or plum brown so it will compliment your lipstick and still look good on your eyes.

  • If you are chewing off your lipstick during meals, keep your lips off the utensils.

  • If you want to make your teeth look whiter, use pink, red, or plum colored lipstick. Orange-toned lipstick will make your teeth look more yellow.

  • To avoid getting lipstick on your teeth: after applying your lipstick, form your lips into an “O”. Insert your finger into your mouth. Slightly tighten your lips around your finger. Slowly remove your finger from your mouth. All of the excess lipstick should be on your finger.

  • Gently rub your lips with a washcloth before applying lipstick to remove any loose skin cell thus making your lips smoother.

  • If you don’t want to use a lip liner, apply foundation around the lips to give a precise look.
