Don't Forget Your Eyeliner Make Up!

Eyeliner is one eye make up that can be easily overlooked.  Many women will use mascara and/or eye shadow, but eliminate eyeliner.  However, eyeliners are like a picture frame surrounding a beautiful painting.  You can use it to frame the eyes, emphasize the top lid or emphasize the bottom lid.  Applied correctly, it enhances your eyes and gives the appearance of thicker eyelashes. 

Eyeliners come in four different forms: pencil, cake, liquid and felt tip.

• Pencil eyeliners are easy to use.  Choose a soft-leaded pencil.  With it you can rub away mistakes easily.  When it is sharpened to a nice point, you can make a thin line.  If you don’t sharpen it as often, you can create a softer, thicker line.  A pencil lets you get your liner right in with your eyelashes - for the look of fuller eyelashes.
• Cake eyeliner is used more by professional makeup artists.  But, it is available for the average consumer.  If you have time and patience, it could be fun to try.
• Liquid eyeliner is hard to apply and can give you a harsh “Cleopatra” look.  If you smear it, you may remove any foundation makeup you have already applied.  Liquid liner gives a very definite line.  It is ideal for stage make up.
• Felt tip liners are liquid, but offer more control than liquid.  They are fairly new on the market, so give them a try if you wish.

You can use eye shadow as eyeliner.  Eye shadow gives a soft halo to the eye.  Also, it comes in so many more colors than eyeliner does.
