Do You Need Concealer with Your Makeup?
Concealer is a great addition to your make up. You use it – as the name implies – to conceal. With the right
shade you can hide skin imperfections, redness, dark circles, blemishes and even-out skin tones. Good
concentrated concealers can also cover birthmarks, scars, rosacea, port wine stains, broken capillaries, vitiligo
and age spots.
Concealers come in several shades. You want to choose a shade lighter
than your skin. Some people say to apply your concealer over your makeup; others say to apply it under for a more
natural look. So, experiment with it to see which way works best for you. If you are trying to hide redness, there
are color-correcting concealers in green. Choose yellow tones to cover bluish marks. To help cover birthmarks and
scars, use more concentrated concealers. Do not use concealing makeup on marks such as fresh scars that are still
healing.
