Before You Buy That Makeup Mirror
Applying Makeup
Makeup helps give
the average woman confidence and beauty. It’s no secret that women spend a lot of money on makeup. However, if you
apply makeup in front of a normal bathroom mirror, it may look totally different when you get outdoors or in a
different lighting situation. That’s where a good makeup mirror comes to the rescue.
I looked at three different makeup mirrors from three different sources.
I thought it would be a good idea to look at the ratings of these makeup mirrors to help make a decision. Here are
the descriptions and ratings I found. Keep reading…
Bobbi Brown Hand Held Mirror

The Bobbi Brow hand held mirror makes for easy to apply makeup and last
minute touch-ups. It has a sleek design in black faux-leather and camel contrast stitching and looks very nice on
your vanity. It is approximately 5 ¼” wide and 10 ¾” high. It had a general rating of four on a five-point scale.
You can purchase it at Nordstrom for about $25.
HoMedics Spa Reflectives 7.5" Magnifying Illuminated Beauty
Mirror

The HoMedic Spa beauty mirror gives you that perfect look with this
one-sided incandescent illuminated beauty mirror. It sports a 7x magnification, glare-free and fog-free mirror
which is ideal for applying eye makeup, creams, lotions and styling hair. The mirror has a 7.5-inch diameter and
satin nickel finish. This mirror had a general rating of 3.5 on a five point rating scale. You can purchase it at
Wal-Mart for around $30.
Conair Double-Sided Lighted Makeup Mirror BE4

Applying makeup with the Conair Double-Sided lighted beauty mirror is a
pleasure. It has both regular and 5x magnification to help you see exactly what you’re doing. This optimum,
glare-free mirror provides circular lighting to evenly illuminate your face. It’s chrome finish and style
complements any bedroom décor. It operates with a cord or 3 AA batteries. It had a general rating of 3.5 on a
five-point scale. You can purchase it at Target for around $20.
Now, if you’d read the information about these three makeup mirrors,
you’d think you have a pretty good idea about them. However, as I continued to read, I noticed that Target had
customer reviews, which they published. Of the nine reviews, eight of them rated the Conair beauty mirror very
poor, i.e., one on a five-point scale. Their comments indicated the beauty mirror was poorly designed, the light
bulb blew out quickly and it provided poor lighting.
So, if you’re looking for a good mirror to apply your makeup, don’t just
take what you read at face value. Try to look for feedback from women that have used the mirror.
P.S. It is good to note that all these mirrors had a warranty and money
back guarantee. If it doesn’t live up to your expectation, you can get your money back.
