Cosmetics Make Up
Benefit Cosmetics co-founders, Jean and Jane Ford, are identical twins. Born in a small
Indiana town, it became apparent very young that they were a real team. Jean used glowing fireflies to create face
paint. Jane spent hours counting raisinettes. She’d bite them in half and trade them for equivalent sized
M&M’s.
In 1976, they opened their first make up boutique
called The Face Place. Between their passion for make up and their wild sense of humor, The Face Place became an
instant make up hit. They developed the original products Benetint , Lip Plump , and Ooh La Lift . The names speak for themselves and were instant make up hits.
In 1990, The Face Place was renamed Benefit. Initially, there were five
boutiques in the San Francisco Bay Area. Soon, the word spread. Here was a make up company producing high quality
products with hilarious names. Benefit soon opened cosmetic stores in New York and London. It has grown to 650
boutiques worldwide. They produce an extremely interesting catalog, have an extremely lively store presence and
produce products that are both fun and effective in solving all your make up needs.
Benefit has a tremendous following of women of all ages who are looking
for fresh solutions to everyday general problems. If you’re in the market for cosmetics, you can get the exact
make up product you need, while always getting the unexpected. That’s what it’s all
about… Benefit Cosmetics.
